Paper and screen, together
The app is the other half.
Physical evidence is wonderful at some things and hopeless at others. Paper cannot play you an audio statement, cannot check an answer, cannot stop you reading ahead, and cannot tell you that the thing you are holding just became important.
So the case does the tactile work and the app does the rest: narration and audio, notes that stay with your party, graded hints, answer checking, optional AR, progression, and the accusation itself.
